Day 7/9 | In the footsteps of Narasimha
Following the Master | East India Pilgrimage 2019
In the morning we drove to Simhachalam, which is located on a hill in Vishakapatnam. This form of Narasimha is very special. On one side He has the head of Varaha and on the other is Narasimha. This deity is covered completely in chandan. Because when Lord Narasimha appeared, He was so hot and angry, symbolising fire. That’s why in this special temple they cover Him in chandan to cool Him down.
After receiving darshan of the main deity, Guruji received a part of the cloth that He had been wearing throughout the year and a bowl of chandan that was on the deity's heart.
In the late afternoon Paramahamsa Vishwananda visited the Devi Peetham ashram. This place is designed as a Sri Yantra.
