Day 2 - God's perfect timing
Following the Master | Mauritius Pilgrimage 2021
08 March 2021
Today was one of the most amazing days ever! A recurring lesson we are getting used to is, don’t be attached to the programs and plans, because Guruji is really good at destroying them.
Guruji has explained in the past that attachment to our plans is an automatic limitation because we simply don’t know what God has in store for us. Oftentimes we think too small in terms of what is possible and necessary. This is why it’s important to let go of expectations!
We shared a talk with Tapesh, who is organising the pilgrimage and he said, ‘For two months I was designing the plan, but not even a single minute has gone according to it! All is always according to His plan.’
So thank you to all pilgrims both live and virtual for your willingness to be flexible!
Today, however, we started quite on time, but the program changed completely. We started going to visit the only Rukmini Panduranga temple in Mauritius, a beautiful temple between the mountain and the sea. In this temple, you can go inside the sanctuaries and offer Incense, oil lamp, arati, etc, everything is there, available for you to offer. There was also a Shiva Lingam to whom Guruji and all the pilgrims offered water while singing bhajans.
After receiving darshan from Lord Panduranga, the pilgrims feeling excited started to dance, but were a bit shy about it. Guruji intervened by infusing some ‘vibes' and asked, ‘This is how you dance?’ And He started dancing Himself! Soon the whole hall became loud and everyone was jumping, dancing, and chanting, ‘Jai Jai Vitthala!’ Even if it was one of the hottest days in Mauritius, that didn’t stop the bhaktas from expressing their love for Lord Vitthala.
Next was another surprise location—-Vortex de Riambel.
This was a very particular place, said to be one of the 14 vortexes on Earth which helps to balance cosmic energy and heal people in body and spirit.
Suddenly after the presentation of the owner, Guruji said that He has something to share with the group. He started telling us the story of how Maha-Lakshmi came to Him a few weeks back, offering Him a meditation for helping people, and encouraged everyone to practice it.
It is very simple and details will be organised for sharing soon.
Guruji guided everyone, including the virtual pilgrims, through the meditation. After that Guruji invited everyone to do OM Chanting in the same place. He stayed outside of the circle, as many of us know, that for Him, participating in an OM Chanting may have strong consequences in nature. Some virtual pilgrims shared how they were crying when the OM Chanting happened. It was a very powerful and unique moment for all.
We continued on to the beach and had a picnic under a huge tamarind tree. Guruji was very relaxed and spoke with people.
Following the beach, we drove south to what Swamini Paragatishwari said is the most beautiful beach in all Mauritius. It is also a favourite of Guruji. There, His cousin, Vivi, shared a miracle that happened a few years back. There is a small island in front of this beach, however you can still access it on foot. In 2021, in front of the island, Guruji and Vivi went there and the sea was very rough. Guruji began moving His hands and the waves started to break against the rocks, following Guruji’s movements.
Vivi asked, ‘Guruji, is it actually you making the waves?’
Guruji didn’t answer and simply gave a confused expression. Guruji then told Vivi to go stand in a specific spot. Vivi took His spot, watching the intensity of His movements, like an orchestra conductor. Suddenly, a huge wave rose up and hit the rock, making Vivi completely wet.
This place was chosen by Guruji to perform abhishekam to Giridhari. We brought the deities and all the puja elements to the shore, and Guruji went into the water, encouraging everyone to do the same. He set Giridhari and the other deities on a rock and started the abhishekam during sunset. The deities looked so joyful!
On the way back, Guruji asked to stop on the side of the road. He told everyone in the car to wait. After about two minutes, He said, ‘Ok now let’s go.’ We started walking up the hill and as soon as Guruji reached a point where He could be seen from the road, a car stopped in the middle of the road,. A very joyful person showed his face through the windows, and yelled, ‘NAMASTE!’
The car parked and the man came running up the hill. When he reached Guruji, he started sharing how much he wanted to meet Him. Someone has told him about Guruji, and since that time he has been praying every time to meet Him. It was a special moment, and Guruji gave him a lot of time.
If these two minutes that Guruji asked us to wait inside of the car would not have happened, this encounter wouldn’t have happened! And sure enough, Guruji shared a thought about how God acts perfectly to call everyone. The same night, in the hotel where people were sharing experiences, Guruji also said, ‘God has many aspects to call the people back.’
The night finished with all the pilgrims sharing experiences together with Guruji next to the sea, after having a meal and receiving a cooling breeze from the ocean, under a clear sky. Meanwhile, observing all of this, as we reflected on our own stories we though, ‘Indeed, God has many aspects to call us all back.’
Stay tuned and keep 'Following the Master'!
