Day 12/12 | Vrinda Kund
Following the Master | Holi Pilgrimage Vrindavan 2019
27 March 2019
On the last day of the Holi pilgrimage, after Guruji’s departure, the entire group woke up early at 6 am in the morning to visit Vrinda Kund on the outskirts of Vrindavan. Vrinda Kund is a lake and a temple dedicated to Vrinda Devi, an expansion of Tulsi Devi, who was one of the most intimate friends of Radha and Krishna.
During the Radha Krishna Leela, it was Vrinda Devi who was responsible for arranging the meetings of Radha and Krishna, decorating the places of their pastimes, as well as delivering their messages to each other. She instructed all the creepers, flowers, trees, parrots and peacocks of Vrindavan how to serve the Divine couple, which is why She is considered to be one of the most expert servants of Radha and Krishna. She is always depicted with a parrot, who is a messenger between Radha and Krishna. Even today, Vrinda Kund is filled with the chirping of all the birds and many parrots residing here.
All the devotees enjoyed the serene atmosphere of Vrinda Kund. The group stayed there in silence for some time, doing their sadhana and enjoying the peaceful surroundings—so different from crowded temples in Vrindavan. It was a beautiful way to complete the pilgrimage and reflect on all the priceless moments spent with Gurudev.
After coming back from Vrinda Kund, the devotees went for some final shopping and started packing before their departure. Some had tears in their eyes while leaving Vrindavan. You could easily see that everyone's heart was deeply touched by their stay in Vrindavan in the blessed presence of Gurudev, and many are already looking forward to coming back here again.
It’s been so amazing to visit the holy pilgrimage sites of Radha and Krishna in the presence of Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda!
