# 12 | Love Makes the Impossible Possible
Following the Master | Mauritius 2020-21
31 January 2021
From Thaipoosam Cavadee festival, satsang in the beautiful botanical gardens, a hugely successful Unity Mantra Concert, and of course, continuous miracles all around - these past few days with Guruji have been a true celebration and as always, in devotion to the divine.
Tamil Traditions in Mauritius
We received an invitation to the temple across the street of the mandir for the Thaipoosam Cavadee Festival, a public Mauritian holiday celebrated in honour of Lord Muruga. The festival consists of intense rituals and ceremonies, such as 10 days of fasting and no speaking in preparation. There is also a procession up the mountain of specially selected people carrying elaborately decorated cavadees attached to hooks pierced into their backs, believing this act will give the blessing to fulfill their wishes.
Guruji was invited to do abhishekam on the deity of Lord Murugan in this next-door temple. This Tamil temple was suddenly flooded by bhaktas who conquered the mic and started to sing and clap. The whole place was full of high bhakti vibes! Everyone started clapping, the speed started rising, the people started walking faster to give the offerings, and the pujaris got involved in the rhythm too. The temple is beautiful with all the walls filled with Mahabharata stories. The main deity was Draupadi, because for some traditions in India, it is her and not Bhima who had defeated Duryodhan in battle.
Satsang in the Botanical Gardens
Guruji was invited to the north of the island to do an open satsang and kirtan in the botanic gardens. It was such a lovely experience to be with nature, fruit trees, music and very good questions during the satsang, like ‘What is free will?’ You can watch the satsang here.
After satsang we shared a very tasty picnic in the grass with Guruji. He decided to go for a walk and said goodbye to everyone after our meal but all the bhaktas could not resist walking behind Him, like a magnet. They just enjoyed watching Him be Himself, interacting with nature. In one of the stops next to the pond, He was offered a very beautiful lotus flower from one of the garden keepers. This really surprised us, how inside people is this natural feeling to offer something to Guruji without even knowing Him. We have witnessed episodes like this so many times.
Unity Mantra Concert
To finish this amazing day we had the ‘Unity Mantra Concert'. The idea came from Guruji who, during His quarantine, had the spontaneous idea to create this special event for everyone. He called His devotee, the artist Sati Kazanova, and asked her to make a concert in Mauritius and do what she does best - spread the Divine Name through music! It was absolutely amazing, with many artists who blessed the stage with their unique expression for the Divine. The venue was completely full of smiling, dancing people. Guruji attributes the successful organization of this last-minute event to the power of Love. Love makes the impossible possible.
