# 10 | Conquering Hearts with Darshan
Following the Master | Mauritius 2020-21
18 January 2021
Guruji’s early pastimes and world-famous darshans are conquering Mauritian hearts. The special darshan from this week was held on the beach! It lasted around 5 hours and more than 1000 people were blessed.
Before the darshan, we were at Sri Ranganath Mandir, attempting to leave for the north part of the island around eight that morning but we ended up departing at five that evening from the house instead! Travelling with Guruji rarely ever goes as planned!
The darshan preparation was amazing. It took place in a huge tent on the beach, fully packed. Outside the big tent, food was served for everyone, for free. Many musicians from different backgrounds came and shared their devotion to God with their own unique styles. The vibes in the tent were really high! People were dancing, clapping and thoroughly enjoying it.
Police officers were patrolling around the area and some devotees felt inspired to invite them to participate in darshan. They accepted the invitation, took off their shoes, walked to the front, and were blessed by Guruji. After that, they joyfully shared their experiences with the other officers outside.
The well-known, talented singer and devotee from Russia, Sati, was invited to speak. She shared the story of how Guruji re-connected her with God, and since then has been guided every step of her life by Guruji, especially in her professional career.
The evening was filled with several inspiring testimonies like this, non-stop uplifting music, and of course, the joy that always emanates from Guruji’s smile.
After receiving a lot of invitations, Guruji chose one family to spend His dinner and private time with. We are often curious about what makes Guruji accept certain invitations with His always busy schedule.
They met Guruji 5 years ago and the father is very devoted to Guruji. He didn’t know the Vaishnava-mantra when we did the welcoming puja to receive Guruji, but Guruji was smiling at him the whole time, and at the end encouraged him to learn it for the next time.
What we observed is that this family was not interested in asking Guruji for anything. Even though He gave them the space to do that, they were really thirsty to know Guruji’s pastimes. They were simply happy to know more about Guruji’s life story.
Their first question was, ‘How did everything start?’
Guruji answered, ‘It was 1992…’ and began narrating a series of pastimes including, ‘The Miracle Room.’ His room was completely covered with vibhuti on the walls, the pictures, the roof, everywhere! His mother was so upset and made Guruji clean everything, thinking He made the mess. After He cleaned everything, Guruji went to the school and when He came back He saw His mother crying because the room was full of this ‘smelly powder’ again. Even bees were in the room, attracted by some sweetly flavoured fragrance.
Because she was stressed that Guruji was ‘not normal’, she went to confide in the old lady neighbour. She explained what happened and requested her to keep it private. By the afternoon, inside and around the house were full of people visiting ‘The Miracle Room!’ Guruji joked, saying the old ladies were faster than the internet in spreading the news. His mother noticed everything around Guruji was becoming very intense! I don’t think she knew that this was just the beginning of a miraculous life with a true Master.
